This is the second oldest square of the city and in this one was located the first formal market; it had a statue of fatherland in the center until the year of 1899; this one was replaced by a kiosk, same that in the year of 1970 was taken off to be constructed the bookstores.

Always it has been identified as the perfect place for the rest and the study, this is because threre are buildings in the center of the square that gives shelter to two Libraries, one of them is the Municipal Library and the other is the Benjamin Franklin Library; Those are important points of meeting of all those students and professional who want to successfully obtain information for theirs tasks and projects.

It is interesting to mention that in the main entrance of the Municipal Library there are two stone figures of lions with a golden color, this is the main reason for which the town has granted to it its actual name.
